Dark Walls Demand Different Lighting Approach

Finding the right lighting for dark rooms is key to comfort, visibility and aesthetics at night.
So, if you are about to change from light walls to a deeper, richer color, consider making lighting changes, too.
The layers of lighting should be considered in any room, but brightness is of optimum importance with deep-colored walls.

- Decorative Lighting: This includes permanent lighting fixtures like chandeliers and sconces, as well as portable lighting such as table lamps. Since these are usually "for show," they often add primarily "wow" factor in a room.
- Focal Lighting: This illuminates your prized watercolor or print, collections in your curio cabinet or on shelves. It becomes even more important when walls get darker.
